Most of the times going for a ride is really easier than you originally thought. A general idea of destination, but mainly the mood for exploration and adventure is usually enough. Since the wider area of southeastern Serbia was relatively unknown to me, the province around the small town of Bela Palanka came under my 'riding microscope'. The truth is that we always cross southern Serbia by main roads, aiming to reach the heart of the Balkans soon.

Note: I suggested exchanging my BMW Gs 1200, mod. 2005 with one of his animals and he considered it unfair.

A video of mine (set to 1080p and then press all buttons available.. you know.. like, share, etc), which captures the best moments of the ride:

In particular, from Thessaloniki i arrived in Vranje, Serbia, moving mainly on the E-75 highway.

Then, to the town of Bela Palanka, through dirt roads which run parallel to the local roads 231 and 232. It is impossible for me to accurately reconstruct the route, since i was definitely lost due to heavy rain.

In previous rides i had visited the main points of interest of the city, (you can read more about the city of Nis in my posts From Nis to Sarajevo: a ride through recent history and Alone in central Balkans), so the chapel that houses the «Skull Tower» («Cele Kula», serbian: Ћеле-кула) could not be ruled out. I consider it absolutely indicative of the level of a culture, how the winner treats the loser, after an armed conflict.

Next day i returned via the international highway.

ps: Although i do not like the postscripts, i am tempted because i can only add to my foreword that among those things that guarantee a successful ride, are good friends.
